Cities bear the weight of expectation when it comes to the UK’s urgent need for new, affordable homes and its need to decarbonise. How can we ensure that the two are tackled holistically? We need new homes that are fit for the future and well-integrated with low carbon transport. It may not be an attention-grabbing headline, but planning could be the answer. This event explored how metro mayors and city region leaders can also use their new strategic planning powers to secure more sustainable and liveable cities.
We were joined by Shaun Spiers, Executive Director of Green Alliance, and Nicole Lazarus, Oxfordshire Programme Manager at Ashden winner Bioregional for a lively after work conversation with policy makers, funders, investors and sustainability experts. Over cheese and wine, we’ll discuss and debate the serious business of reducing carbon emissions and improving lives.
This was an invitation only event.
