Current levels of finance for sustainable energy, particularly energy access, are significantly lower than those required to meet the UN’s 2030 target. In addition, enterprises operating in this space face complex financing challenges that differ from country to country, with varying levels of debt, equity and grant funding needs.
At the conference we debated how the finance and policy sector can help to address the lack of financing options available.
The day was hosted by Roger Harrabin, BBC’s Environment Analyst and consisted of four panel discussions and debates, showcasing the work of the 2018 Ashden Award winners and other industry leaders.
