Green Communities Learning Webinar 2: Working with local authorities

This event has already taken place and registration is no longer available.

Time: Thursday 24 June, 10:00 – 11:30 AM (BST)

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Climate charity Ashden will be hosting the second Green Communities Learning Network event virtually on 24th June at 10 – 11.30am. After a very engaging and well attended first session in March, community groups will come together again to continue the development of a ‘community network’ delivering on climate action and to discuss best practice and top tips on engagement with local authorities.

Local action on the climate emergency requires both community groups and councils to work together and is not always straightforward. A strong connection between the two can foster collaboration and accelerate climate action across areas – but how is it best to get to this point?

We will hear from innovators who have developed useful connections between community groups and councils across a range of settings. This includes Camden Think & Do and Camden Borough Council, Hampshire County Council’s Greening Campaign and Repowering.

This event is open to all community groups and interested council officers and provides a unique opportunity to share stories and ideas on how successful collaboration can look.

Why attend?
• Learn how community groups are engaging with their councils across a range of settings (city, town and rural)
• Understand better what you can offer your local council
• Connect with other community groups facing similar challenges
• Gather top tips for good council engagement.
