Wednesday 22 September, 3pm BST/10am EDT. A Climate Week NYC event.
This event has already taken place and registration is no longer available.
Soaring heat creates danger in homes and neighbourhoods around the world, and people already marginalised are at greatest risk. Communities and grassroots innovators are taking action – but how can those in power support cooler homes and streets for all?
This 90-minute online event, part of Climate Week NYC, will highlight exciting sustainable cooling solutions in India, Rwanda, Egypt and Colombia. Enjoy discussion and presentations from frontline organisations, and the screening of an inspiring new short film.
The session will strengthen the links between cooling and development priorities such as poverty reduction, gender equality and better health, and explore how marginalised communities can be empowered to create change. We will ask how governments, city and state leaders and global organisations from a range of sectors can unlock the finance and policy action needed to create radical progress.
This event is presented by Ashden, The Clean Cooling Collaborative and The UN Cool Coalition.
