From Inspiration to Practice: Delivering Net Zero through Local Government is a free virtual conference showcasing some of the most ambitious and transformative local authority-led, net-zero projects from across the UK and Europe. It aims to demonstrate how local action can help support and drive the transition to net-zero. Attendees will gain practical advice from those behind proven successful net-zero local government projects in the areas of transport, energy, housing, land use, greener economies and waste, community involvement and partnership development, and taking a holistic approach.
This conference will bring people together who are innovating net-zero carbon projects in local authorities throughout the UK and Europe, leading the way in: energy; housing; transport; circular economy; land use; community involvement and partnership development; and taking a holistic approach. The conference will be looking behind the scenes to illustrate how projects gained approval and funding, who was involved, the journey and obstacles surmounted, how they succeeded and lessons learned. It will enable participants to interact with project leads of inspiring successful net zero projects, and peers, in an open, energised space to gain knowledge and experience of how these kinds of projects can be successfully initiated and carried out.
The main programme of keynote address, workshops and panel discussion will run between 09.00 and 13:15 on Thursday 30th September. The event will open on Wednesday 29th September for delegates to check their registration, familiarise themselves with the Hopin platform and visit the Expo Booths. Conference organisers will be on hand to help with any tech support and answer any questions. The event will remain live until 23.00 on Thursday 30th Sept for delegates to return to network, hold their own sessions and explore Expo Booths they didn’t have time to look at earlier.
