Local authority climate action case studies – launch event!

Local authority climate action case studies – launch event!

This event has already taken place and registration is no longer available.

Local authorities are crucial to the delivery of the UK’s transition to a cleaner, greener future. But progress needs to be accelerated in every local area if the UK’s climate and nature targets are to be met.

Friends of the Earth and Ashden have drawn together a new set of case studies which showcase the inspiring work of over 40 local authorities.  They cover the topics of transport, buildings, power, waste, nature and vulnerability.

At this launch webinar, we’ll be walking you through the case studies including their impact and resourcing, and drawing out the key lessons learned.  You’ll hear the top insights from the case study authors, learn how the case studies can help inform your council’s approach to tackling climate, and have an opportunity to make contact with others working in this field.

Agenda

  • Introduction from ADEPT
  • 40 climate action case studies – Ashden
  • Overview of key lessons from these case studies – Friends of the Earth
  • Useful resources for councils – from MySociety, Friends of the Earth and Ashden

The webinar will be of interest to local authority officers and councillors (including those newly elected), local campaigners and community groups that are working on carbon reduction.
