London Learning Hub

In London, Ashden is helping local authorities work together to engage communities on climate action.

Community engagement is essential for local authority-led climate action – both in terms of support for council policies and as partners who can help to deliver local initiatives. Effective engagement requires the right skills and sufficient resource. By learning from each other, councils can maximise their effectiveness in working cooperatively with local communities on initiatives that cut carbon whilst also delivering a range of cobenefits such as improved health and job opportunties.

Our London hub meets regularly to showcase successful projects and discuss how local implementation can work best. Topics covered include engaging hardly reached communities, working with businesses on community engagement and supporting the development of green skills within the community.

What do members of the network think?

"“The Ashden London Hub is a great space to meet other council officers working in similar roles and facing similar challenges. In terms of credibility and resources, we know that the workshops will be well-designed, super interactive and positive. If there is an event run by Ashden, I make an effort to attend and when I do it is always useful."
