For 20 years Ashden has been rewarding organisations that are changing the world with sustainable energy. Through the Ashden Awards we find innovative enterprises and projects that have gone beyond the proof of concept and are ready to scale and create greater impact for people and planet.
Through our Awards process we encounter hundreds of early stage ideas, many of which are brilliant and potentially transformative, but that aren’t quite at the right stage of their development to meet our criteria. This is why we’re really excited to be working in partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery to help find applicants for one of the largest competitions for start-ups in the field of sustainability, the Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge.
Throughout March and April 2019, we will be supporting Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge in its search for innovative entrepreneurs that are tackling climate change through a new product or service that contributes to a more sustainable planet.
We know that the UK is full of creative innovators that are focusing their efforts on tackling climate and environmental issues. Do you think you are one of them? From sustainable fashion to reducing pollution, the circular economy and the built environment, the Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge judges are looking for a wide range of sustainable solutions that demonstrate creativity, courageousness and communications potential. The competition is open throughout Europe and has an incredible first prize of €500,000, with a runner-up receiving €200,000 and three finalists each receiving €100,000. It is free to enter and all five finalists will receive over six months of expert coaching to optimise their business opportunities.
We hope to see applicants for this year’s Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge grow to become Ashden Award applicants, and perhaps even winners, in the future.
