North East England Learning Hub

In the North East, Ashden is helping local authorities work together to drive down carbon emissions and fuel bills through home upgrades.

Councils are under pressure to make homes more energy efficient but have limited resources and sometimes lack the skills and expertise to create change. We don’t have time for councils to learn in isolation or act alone.

That’s why we set up a retrofit learning hub in the North East, identifying successful initiatives and showing how to implement locally. Topics covered include retrofit strategy and procurement, resident engagement, skills and jobs, and enabling technologies
