The first
London Climate Action Week, which begins on Monday, will feature more than 100
events – all helping speed us towards a low-carbon future. Ashden will be at
the heart of the action, with events across the capital. Highlights include our
health and energy conference and the annual Ashden Awards ceremony – a
celebration of the very best in sustainable energy innovation.

Our experts
and winners will be popping up at a host of other events too. We’d love to hear
what you’re looking forward to, and what big issues you think the week should
tackle – tell us on social media using the hashtag #Ashden19.

July 1 – Investor networking

We’ll kick off with a private event at the
Conduit Club, run in partnership with impact investment networks ClearlySo and Conduit Connect. The aim
is to connect Ashden Award winners from around the world with sustainability-focused
investors. Last year Ashden’s connecting power helped past winner EcolibriumEnergy raise a significant portion of its $10million equity funding round – this
event could be a pivotal moment for another cutting-edge innovator.

July 2 – Driving
Better Health with Sustainable Energy

Our conference
will explore how sustainable energy can create better health – through reliable
power in rural hospitals, cleaner air in our cities, and much more. The day will
address financing challenges, as well as how to break down the barriers between
the health and energy sectors. We’ll bring together clean energy innovators,
funders and investors, policymakers, academics and others for a event focused
on practical action.

Afterwards
we’ll head to the Energy
Access Drinks
(co-organised by past Ashden Award winning Sunfunder), for a
moment’s relaxation in the middle of a hectic week. If you’re taking part in
London Climate Action Week, we’d love to see you there.

July 3 – Financing
SMEs and the low carbon transition

On Wednesday
morning we’ll team up with HSBC UK for a private event exploring the challenges
and opportunities of providing finance to small and medium-sized business in
the UK’s low carbon sector. This breakfast session will also ask how to manage
the low carbon transition in a fair and equitable way.

July 3 – The 2019 Ashden Awards

We finish
on Wednesday night with the annual Ashden Awards ceremony, where we celebrate
this year’s award
winners
. Our keynote speaker is Mary Robinson – formerly President of
Ireland, and now a leading climate campaigner driving global action to confront
the climate emergency.

We’ll hear more
from this year’s winners throughout an inspiring, thought-provoking event. The
night promises to gather key players in the sustainable energy sector – there
are still a few tickets available
.

There’s so
much going, we can’t wait to get started. If you’re taking part, at our events
or elsewhere, we wish you a fantastic week of bright ideas, bold thinking and positivity.
