You don't clean up without getting dirty

Climate change is killing us. Filthy air, deadly heat and extreme weather are not tomorrow’s problems – they are today’s reality. The world’s poorest people are hit hardest, by a problem they did not create. Their soil bakes and their crops wither, while toxic industries profit from destruction.

Time to dig in

Climate champions, organisations on the frontline of the climate crisis, are creating something better. A planet powered by low-carbon start-ups, bold green policies, liveable cities, better work and clean energy for all. We help these innovators attract investment and funding, build their networks, and create radical change. We do this because we believe in them, and their vision of a cleaner, fairer, healthier world.

Grassroots to global action

Ashden supports proven climate innovation in the UK and developing countries – because on-the-ground solutions will drive the system changes our planet needs. For two decades the Ashden Awards have accelerated the most exciting climate innovators. We find our winners through a rigorous global search, then work with them to scale up their impact and inspire others. The insights of these climate innovators power everything we do.

Ashden is all about networks

We help organisations learn and share ideas through masterclasses and workshops, and bring them closer to their key audiences – from local authorities in the UK to investors in energy access.

Climate champions are worth shouting about

So we share their stories in the media and on film. We showcase them through events, campaigns and reports. In doing so, we give communities the tools and inspiration to take action and face down the climate emergency.

But our work doesn’t stop there. We are helping UK schools radically lower their emissions (and their energy bills too). We are helping climate innovators withstand the coronavirus pandemic, and power the green recovery. And we are taking on the global cooling challenge, a neglected climate battle.
